- The LMA Proseal Airway Introducer is used to aid insertion of the LMA ProSeal Airway, where it is desirable to avoid placing the finger in the patient's mouth

- The proseal lma is shaped to facilitate easy insertion

- The tool is malleable, hence the introducer is supplied in the recommended curvature for immediate use and can be bent to any desired shape

- The introducer should be removed prior to inflation and fixation of the LMA ProSeal

- It may be possible to reduce or eliminate head and neck manipulation while using the introducer

- The introducer should be cleaned and sterilised in the same manner as the LMA Proseal

- Supraglottic airway devices (SADs) are devices that keep the upper airway clear for unobstructed ventilation. Laryngeal masks are a type of supraglottic airway which keep a patient's airway open during the state of unconsciousness and when the patient is under anesthesia.
